| Converting your document to
a postscript ("PS") file has some very definite advantages.
By embedding your fonts and graphics into a single file it ensures
that your job will print successfully every time. In addition,
this removes limitations of projects created in programs that
Aztec may not support. Quite simply, the PS file transforms
your document into a universal format compatible with all of
our printing devices.
To
create a successful PS file you must use a postscript print
driver. For a B/W document most postscript B/W printer drivers
will work, unless your job requires printer specific features
such as scaling, halftoning, etc. that are not available in
the driver you are using, For best results you should use
the exact driver for the printer being used. For color you
MUST select a specific color postscript device for accurate
color matching.
Print
drivers are made available for free download by their respective
vendors:www.hewlettpackard.com,
www.usa.canon.com,
www.xerox.com, www.fiery.com,
www.encad.com. For a Windows
computer you will need to install the printer on your computer
before attempting to create the file. It must be installed
as a LOCAL printer so that the installation will not fail
because the device was not found. For a Macintosh you need
only place the Printer Description (PPD) file into the system
folder.
